What are ECO grants?
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) began in January 2013 and we are now in the fourth version of the scheme, known widely as ECO4.
ECO is a Government scheme to obligate the largest suppliers of gas and electricity to deliver energy efficient measures to domestic premises in Great Britain. The scheme is funded by the 17 largest energy companies who have been obligated to provide funding for heating and insulation improvements.
Am I eligible for an ECO4 grant?
To qualify for an ECO4 grant you must be in receipt of a qualifying benefit. For ECO4 the range of qualifying benefits has been widened. Certain benefits have additional criteria which are listed below. The full range of qualifying benefits are:
- Child Tax Credit
- Working Tax Credit
- Universal Credit
- Pension Guarantee Credit
- Income Support
- Income based Job Seekers Allowance
- Income based Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
